There are over 300,000 boats registered in North Carolina and boating is undoubtedly one of the state's most popular sports. How do all of these folks get to the water? One way is to use the free boating access areas provided by the Wildlife Commission. These access areas allow free 24 hour access to 80 different bodies of water in North Carolina. The NCWRC has prepared a series of maps showing each boating access area with links to directions and specific access area information.
