| Controlled Hunting Preserve Operator: Two types offered: one is an area on which only domestically raised game birds other than wild turkeys are taken; the other is an area enclosed with a dog-proof fence on which foxes may be hunted with dogs only. | Scientific Fish Collecting Permit Application: In the interest of the orderly and efficient conservation of aquatic wildlife resources, the Wildlife Resources Commission provides for the licensing of qualified individuals to take aquatic wildlife resources of the state under a collection license. License expires December 31st of each year of issue. The report form is included in the application link. | $5.00 | |
Special Landholder and Guest Fishing: may be obtained by the landholder of private property bordering inland or joint fishing waters, including public mountain trout waters. This license shall entitle the landholder and guests of the landholder to fish from the shore or any pier or dock originating from the property without any additional fishing license. May not be used for commercial purposes. License is valid 12 months from date of purchase. |

| Taxidermy: Authorizes persons to practice taxidermy involving wildlife for any compensation. License expires December 31st of each year. | $10.00 | |
Wildlife Collection Licenses: In the interest of the orderly and efficient conservation of wildlife resources, the Wildlife Resources Commission provides for the licensing of qualified individuals to take wildlife resources of the state under a collection license. The Wildlife Resources Commission may provide for issuance without charge to licensees who represent educational or scientific institutions or some governmental agency. License expires December 31st of each year of issue.

| Wildlife Captivity License: Authorizes a person to keep a wild animal or bird in captivity. The Commission must determine that the animal or bird was acquired lawfully. Captivity licenses are not issued for the purpose of keeping wildlife as pets. | $5.00 |

| Amphibian and Reptile Possession Permit: Required for an individual to possess, transport, purchase and sale 25 or more individual native amphibians and 5 or more individual native reptiles, in accordance with the rules of the Wildlife Resources Commission (15A NCAC 10H .1302). Permits expire December 31st of each year of issue and require an annual report of all species possessed for renewal. | Free |
| Crossbow Permit: Authorizes persons with permanent or long-term disabilities that render them incapable of sufficient arm movement to draw other legal bows. Permit is valid as long as the qualifying disability persists. | Free |
| Disabled Access Permit: Authorizes persons with limited physical mobility to operate vehicles on open-gated or ungated roads otherwise closed to vehicular traffic on certain game lands and to have access to special disabled waterfowl hunting blinds. One able-bodied companion may accompany the disabled person provided they possess the "companion card" issued to the disabled hunter. The disabled hunter will also be issued a "vehicle access card." Permit is valid as long as the qualifying disability persists. | Free |
| Disabled Sportsman Hunt Certification: A medical certification used to establish eligibility for participation in disabled hunt opportunities. This certification is only necessary when the applicant does not possess a lifetime disabled veteran or totally disabled license. This certification is not a license; therefore, a valid hunting license, in addition to the hunt permit, is required when participating in a disabled hunt opportunity. | Field Trial Permit: Allows the release and hunting of propagated birds for dog-training purposes. Also allows non-resident hunters and dog handlers to participate without purchasing a North Carolina hunting license — provided that they possess a valid hunting license from their home states. | Free |
| Fish Stocking Permit: Required for stocking fish, mollusks or crustaceans in inland, public fishing waters (public freshwaters). | Free |
| Fishing License Waiver Permit: Any governmental or non-profit entity conducting an organized fishing event for educational purposes may apply to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for a waiver from the requirements of the recreational fishing license for participants in the event. This waiver is subject to the following conditions: 1. Application must be made by the program sponsor not less than 21 days prior to the event. 2. The person in charge of the event must be on-site at all times and have a copy of the waiver available for inspection on request by Commission personnel. 3. The person in charge of the event must keep a record (form provided) of the names and number of participants and facilitators over 16 years old without a fishing license. 4. The license waiver shall be limited to the participants at the specific location of the event and shall remain in effect only for the date and time specified. |
