Wildlife Damage Control Agent Recertification Options
Continuing Education Opportunities:

  • North Carolina Trapper Education Certification - April 6, 2024, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Wake County Wildlife Club, 1313 Coley Rd., Durham, NC 27703.
  • NCTA (North Carolina Trappers Association) 2024 Convention - September 27 & 28th 2024, Smithfield, NC. Trappers convention as CEUs with trapping demos all day. Register at the NC Trappers Association website
  • Online CEUs from NC WRC .
    Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are necessary for any professional. If you are a Wildlife Control Agent with a current license wishing to renew your license in 2025 so that you are legally able to practice wildlife control in North Carolina, then you must attend and complete at least one of the Commission-approved continuing education courses during the year. These courses include Trapper education, any NC WRC wildlife control course, the National Wildlife Control Operators Convention or take the online lessons and quiz below. This is part of the 15A NCAC 10H .1505 Rules and Regulations of the WCA license.

    Below is the list of YouTube videos that will count as Continuing Education units towards WCA Licenses for 2025. Once all 4 videos are viewed then a brief quiz must be taken to receive credit, link below. 

Lesson 1: In this training, the WCA will learn the difference between Wildlife Control Technicians (WCT) & their role with wildlife, relevant wildlife regulations, and purpose of wildlife control.


Lesson 2: in this training, you will learn about basic trapping information in North Carolina, types of legal traps, and relevant wildlife regulations.


Lesson 3: in this training, you will learn about common wildlife diseases and safety practices when handling wildlife.


Lesson 4: in this training, you will learn about relocation, the ethics of relocation, and exemptions under a Wildlife Control Agent (WCA) signed depredation permit versus a wildlife control technician (WCT).
