Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW)

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is an international program in which women age 18 and older learn outdoor skills through hands-on experiences. In North Carolina, BOW workshops are held across the state and offer a variety of outdoor skills, including fishing, hunting, target shooting, archery, canoeing, motorboat safety, tracking and map-and-compass.

UPDATE: We are currently in the process of evaluating the BOW program to ensure we are providing the most relevant and effective programming opportunities. Upon completing our evaluation, we will determine the best next steps regarding BOW. Our goal is to increase opportunity throughout the state and provide programs that align with the public’s interest while also promoting the North Carolina Wildlife Commission's mission. Future programming will be announced on this page and in our Go Outdoors North Carolina calendar.
