Wrightsville Boating Access Area Changes During Renovations NC Wildlife Resources Commission will begin second phase of major renovation project impacting access and parking

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) will begin its second phase of the Wrightsville Beach Boating Access Area renovation project at 109 Causeway Drive, beginning January 2, 2025. During this time, visitors will experience reduced parking through March 1.

During the renovation, the access entry lane to the ramp will be closed. However, access to the ramps will remain open through the existing parking area as combined entry lane and parking area. This will create a temporary reduction in the number of parking spaces onsite. Users are encouraged to follow traffic flow signage onsite during this period.

Renovations include the replacement of 440 linear feet of bulkhead along the entry lane to the boat ramp. The existing bulkhead is in a state of severe deterioration due to age and environmental impacts and requires replacement. Upgrades will ensure structural safety of the northern portion of the site and access lane.

Construction updates, including times of partial closure and full closure, will be posted on the agency’s website.

Should parking become an issue, as an alternative, the nearest boating ramp to this location is Trails End Boating Access Area, located at 621 Trails End Road in Wilmington.
