Hiring an Alligator Control Agent for Relocation Services

Note: Depredation Permit (issued directly to landowner by NCWRC staff) is Required!

Landowners who have been issued a depredation permit by NCWRC staff can contact a certified Alligator Control Agent to solicit services. Alligator Control Agents are licensed professionals who provide service in much the same way as electricians, plumbers, and other home repair professionals. They should provide an explanation of the services they offer and an estimate of the cost involved. We recommend contacting multiple agents in your area to find the one that best fits your needs.

Only NCWRC staff or certified Alligator Control Agents are legally authorized to handle wild alligators. Additionally, Alligator Control Agents are only authorized to handle alligators for which NCWRC staff have issued a depredation permit. Alligator Control Agents are not authorized to issue depredation permits for alligators under any circumstances.

Please note that depredation permits are only issued for alligators to be relocated in rare and extreme circumstances. Relocation services are costly and it is a stressful experience for the alligator that many do not survive.
